Las Vegas, NV – Handicapped Woman Hit and Killed by Motorcycle on Decatur Blvd
Las Vegas, NV (April 18, 2019) – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the victim who died as a result of a pedestrian crash with a motorcycle that took her life. The woman, Nancy Shonk-Adam, was in a wheelchair when she was struck by the motorcycle. The accident happened on Decatur Boulevard near West Harmon Avenue in a designated crosswalk.
Officials arrived at the scene late Friday evening, April 12, at 7:35 p.m.
Police say that motorcycle struck the pedestrian, which forced her to ground. The accident overturned the motorcycle in the process. The victim was taken to University Medical Center Trauma where she later lost her life due to the impact of the crash.
The motorcycle driver was also taken to the same hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The motorcycle driver did not show any signs of impairment at the scene of the accident.
The case is still under investigation, and more information will be reported upon once available.
