Sloan, NV – FedEx Driver Killed After Being Struck On S Las Vegas Blvd

Sloan, NV (August 23, 2019)

Late Thursday night on August, 22nd, a FedEx driver was killed while helping a car on fire near Sloan, NV. According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the crash took place on S. Las Vegas Blvd south of Via Inspirada at around 10:40 p.m. The deceased party had pulled over onto the shoulder after seeing the disabled vehicle when he was struck by an oncoming commercial truck.

Reports confirmed that a 1993 Chevrolet Corvette was parked on the side of the road when it caught fire. The deceased, identified as 60-year-old John Stacy, was driving his semi when he pulled over and began to walk across the road with a fire extinguisher. Stacy was hit by a loaded mixer truck.

The driver involved remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of John Stacy at this time.
