Las Vegas, NV-Update on Trooper Injury after Hit-and-Run at Desert Inn Rd.
Las Vegas, NV (May 4, 2019) – UPDATE- Information regarding the cause of a crash that involved a trooper on Thursday morning has been released.
The trooper was standing outside his vehicle when he was injured by another vehicle during a hit-and-run. The vehicle in question is said to be a dark-colored pick-up truck. The incident happened at 1:20 a.m. near Desert Inn Road. The trooper’s body camera recorded the events of the incident.
The trooper was taken to a local hospital and eventually, he was released on Thursday afternoon with injuries that were not severe. NHP Southern Command has confirmed that the hit and run appear to have been an overt act of aggression.
Authorities have commented on potential damages to the truck that hit the trooper. There could be substantial damage to the left headlight as a result of the accident. Authorities are asking the public to come forward and contact the Nevada Highway Patrol if they have any information regarding the details of this incident.
