Las Vegas, NV (August 26, 2019)
Sources are reporting that a drunk driver hit two Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers on Monday morning around 2:27 a.m. The incident occurred near Balzar Avenue and James Bilbray Drive.
The drunk driver hit the officer’s patrol car and both officers needed transportation to the hospital for treatment. According to LVMP Lt. David Gordon, the officers were driving north on James Bilbray. The drunk driver, a 40-something male, was driving east on Balzar when he ran a stop sign. He ended up hitting the driver’s side of the patrol car.
Both officers were injured and complained of pain as a result of the crash. The man was arrested under suspicion of DUI.
The intersection of Balzzar and James Bilbray closed during the investigation by reporting officers to the scene of the accident. The authorities who arrived were able to eventually clear the area.
